Conception.

constructa: was conceived in 1994 by two graduates of University College London's Bartlett School of Architecture and the built environment. The concept was a simple one, to legitimise construction, to take a commodity and sell it in a way that you would want to buy it.

Our market is huge, fragmented and poorly regulated. Each year UK homeowners spend in excess of £10 billion on domestic domestic maintenance and improvements. This figure represents works carried out by small building companies with less than 6 employees. In effect the whole industry sector is served by "white van men."

Professional bodies.

From the outset it was decided that constructa: would not be a member of any industry organisation, we would set our own standards, we will be judged on our own performance, and manage & promote our own business.

Professional bodies have continually failed to improve standards and ultimately the reputation of our industry.

Who and where are we?

constructa: is a privately owned limited company, the bulk of the management input and day to day running of constructa: takes place in London. We also have stakeholders who input their experience gained in a variety of industries and companies to contribute to business planning and strategy. Our web & IT development is based in New York.
